Tempest was conceived with a similar sentiment thirty years ago. Every passing year that the college-fest grew it saw the crowd of fans swell before its very eyes and nobody knew that in years to come the humble merriment would be the institution it is today… ‘TEMPEST’

While the college bathes in festive fervour gearing-up for this mega-event, colleges all around the city wait every year with bated breath to take a dip in the stormy competition-waters of M.E.R.I.

The festival brought marine cadets to touch with the artsy side of the Kolkata scene. Young students from all over the city participated in huge numbers in events like ‘Kolkata’s Got Talent’ and ‘Stampede’ bringing up the excitement in themselves. Such is the allure of the competition that youth from all of eastern and the farthest corners of the north east washed up the shores of Tempest with their talent. To add to the vivacity of the performing arts at the festival Tempest provided its participants technical avenues like Propulsion and sporting events like the Chakravyuh to prove their mettle.
