Kalpavriksha 2013, the 8th edition of the highly coveted flagship event of Ahvan, continues its legacy as the flag bearer of social upliftment and empowerment.
DETAILS
Poised as a platform that encourages students and social enterprises to come up with sustainable business plans, it will also provide them with an opportunity to be mentored by field experts and have their initiatives jumpstarted with seed funding. Kalpavriksha has lived through an illustrious history of creating success stories that made their mark on society. We have fostered ideas that are honest, sustainable and are now going live across the world.
The essence of Kalpavriksha is reinforced with the belief that sound business acumen, coupled with an innate passion to implement, culminates in a powerful agent of change. This is why we are on the lookout for the socially aware, brilliant minds of this country to take the dais, present their b-plan, and take a step forward towards transforming the world. After all, the spark of an idea is enough to illuminate the path to transformation.
EVENT DETAILS
The event will comprise of four phases. It is open for both B schools and corporate (category 1) and 0-2 years old social enterprises (category 2). In phase 1, the teams will have to submit an executive summary of the business plan for a self-sustainable social venture. At the end of phase 1, we would select 10 teams from each category. The business plans from 20 teams would be invited and 3 teams from each category move to the mentor stage, which is phase 3. In phase 4, these six teams would present their business plan to a panel of investors and industry experts who decide the final winner from each category.
Description of Categories
Category 1 – Mainly comprises of any socially relevant business idea. Participating team can be from any Business school or corporate team
Category 2 – Any 0-2 year old social enterprise, including student enterprises started and/or incubated in IITs and similar institutions.
